HAEUNDAE BEACH
Haeundae Beach in Busan is a variety of tourist destinations where you can see the beach and the sea, and there are many people whenever you visit. In particular, there are so many domestic sea destinations around the Busan Blue Line Park, which has been visited by many people since its opening. Among them, the place we introduce today is Haewol Observatory, which is easy to find by using the beach train at Haeundae Blue Line Park. It’s a new Busan observatory, and I saw a new observatory while riding a beach train for the first time in a long time.
Haeundae Blue Line Park in Busan
Haeundae Blue Line Park, which you visit for a trip to Haeundae in Busan, is a place that recreates the old Donghae Nambu Line section from Haeundae Mipo to Songjeong Beach. Since the opening, a lot of people have come to see it, and when I used it for the first time in a long time, a new station was added. It was the Haewol Observatory Station. Along with the existing Cheongsapo Bridge Observatory, another sea observatory where you can visit using Haeundae Beach trains has been built. I wondered what it would feel like to see the Cheongsapo Bridge Observatory.
For your information, Haewol Observatory is a tourist destination in Busan located by the sea, so if you want to use a car, you have to walk straight along the road along the sea. It’s good to walk along the road by the sea right next to it, but it would be better to go there using the Haeundae Beach Train. As I introduced in the last post, the beach train has one boarding pass, two boarding passes, and all station boarding passes, so it would be better to use it as all station boarding passes.
Sunrise Observatory
Haeundae Haeseol Observatory, which I visited on my trip to Busan, is special in name. “Seawol” means “a view where you can see the sun and the moon together.” It means that you can appreciate both sunrise and moonrise. It seems like a good place to visit when you go out to Busan to see the sea.
It was about a minute or two walk from Haewol Observatory Station, a beach train, and unlike the Cheongsapo Bridge Observatory, this observatory was painted white, in a strange contrast to the sea of Busan. The observatory is 137 m long and 3 m wide, extending in a U-shape toward the sea.
And a circular observation deck is connected at the end. It was good to see the Busan sea from the circular observation deck with a diameter of 15m.
As the Cheongsapo Bridge Observatory is located in a similar place, the sea view from here was similar. However, there was a different view at the Haewol Observatory, and when I looked directly behind the observatory, I could see the sky capsules that make up Haeundae Blue Line Park passing by.
The beach train runs for 15 to 20 minutes, but the sky capsule often has several capsules and passes higher than the beach train, making it easy to see the sky capsule passing through the Haewol Observatory.
Busan Sea Tour
Based on the Haewol Observatory, one side is toward Cheongsapo and the other is toward Haeundae. You could feel the atmosphere of a small fishing village on the side of Cheongsapo. You could see the small fishing village landscape and the lighthouse in harmony.
High-rise buildings are lined up in the direction of Haeundae on the other side. The contrast was that a different feeling was unfolding on both sides of the Haewol Observatory.
For your information, Haeundae Haewol Observatory opens from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., which is a good place to visit for a trip to the sea in Busan. As the name of the Haewol Observatory was mentioned earlier, it would be good to visit when the sun rises or when you look at the moon. Of course, it’s not the time for the Haeundae Beach train, so you’ll have to follow a walking path toward the beach.
We introduced the new Busan Observatory and the Haewol Observatory, which are 20 minutes long. Haeundae Beach Trains usually run every 20 minutes, so you can use the next train, too. Actually, it’s a bit disappointing to see just this observatory, right? The Haeundae Beach Train is good for traveling to Haeundae, but it will be better to take the beach train and look around the surrounding sea destinations. You will be able to go to all the nearby travel destinations, including Haeundae Beach, Songjeong Beach, Cheongsapo, and Gudeokpo, by using the Haeundae Beach Train. If you have time again, using Sky Capsule will create a fulfilling Haeundae travel course.
As the weather gradually gets colder again, the wintery weather continues. In December, the Haeundae Light Festival in Busan began, and when should I go… After deciding, the whole family finally came out and went on a day trip to Haeundae.
I went to Haeundae Beach in the evening after seeing things at Haeundae Shinsegae Centum. The Haeundae Light Festival is a night view attraction, so I came in time for the evening.
Parking took longer than I thought, so I enjoyed the scenery of the light festival on Haeundae Beach with my children while parking at Jjanga.

Busan is close, so I go to the Haeundae Light Festival every year. When there is nowhere to go in winter, it is good to enjoy the night view and see the sea, and there are many places to go around, so it is a attractive place to go to Haeundae.
A New Year’s greeting photo zone was also created on Haeundae Beach along with the blue snake that marks 2025.
Compared to last year, the beach was a little dark and chilly.
It feels like the light festival is becoming more modest?
These sculptures don’t look very pretty to me
In addition, many of the egg-shaped ones were turned off. It’s still in the beginning of the light festival?
Maybe that’s why when I visited on December 30th, there weren’t as many people on the beach as I thought, but considering it was a weekday, it wasn’t very few either
There are two houses in the shape of a round dome, so I was curious about the inside.
It is said that it was made into a space where you can experience various video contents.
Hmm… It’s a bit cold
Only the lights are running beautifully. People sometimes come in to avoid the cold because it’s less cold than outside.
Children enjoy playing in the sand on the sand…
It was fun because the requirements were kind of interesting.
Interesting experience time
There’s also a cute photo zone. It’s good to take pictures with infants and toddlers.
In the desolate winter, the beach is a little lonely even during the day, but at night, it is bound to feel more empty.
Since the sculptures of the light festival are erected one by one on the wide white sand beach, it has become better to take a walk on the beach while enjoying the night view.
In front of the main entrance of Haeundae Beach, various media arts were unfolded from sculptures made like castles.
There were a lot of people standing by the square to appreciate the changing shape.
It’s short, but if you watch the video, you’ll know how it feels.
Folding/Pulling
This year, Haeundae Light Festival was held at Haeundae Beach, Gunam-ro, and Haeundae Market for winter and the end of the year. Media art is held on the beach with castle-shaped sculptures.
Next to it is the sculptures of the Snow Kingdom.
There are colorful light feasts and sculptures using shadows and light.
Like this. The back hotel and the landmark LCT building in Haeundae, combined with the lighting is impressive.
You can see these things on Haeundae Beach. Compared to last year, it felt a little rustic.
Rather, it was so colorful that it felt like there were more people and a light festival was held properly as we headed toward Gunam.
Starting with a large tree, the festive atmosphere was felt in the long Gunam-ro area along with Haeundae Market.
We also have a printing service along with free photoshoots, so we took a picture while waiting for Jjanga.
Next to it is a place where people write wish postcards. Many people are writing a lot of wishes for the new year.
It’s in the atmosphere of Haeundae Market.
Do you see the alley filled with people?
I was going to look around the market and buy some food
I gave up because there were too many people.
I think it’s going to be crazy on the weekend lol
Rather, it was quiet on the beach side, but the Gunam-ro area was full of people enjoying the Haeundae Light Festival. I felt like the festival had moved here from the beach.
You can also see sculptures that are a little bit more colorful.
There are many things to enjoy around here such as restaurants, cafes, bars, and amusement facilities, so it’s crowded even at night with lights, but the night view has become even more slippery with colorful lights
When the children looked at the sculpture of the whale, they said, “The whale is Ulsan’s, but it’s too much.”
So I said, “We should give Ulsan to whales and mackerel to Busan.” Is this a high school word? He said.
At the end of the year, sad news came one after another, so I thought I would have a gloomy end of the year and a new year, but I could feel the atmosphere of fighting with a new heart with dreams and hopes.
The Haeundae Light Festival runs until February 2, so if you go on a trip to Busan in the winter, it will be okay to stop by Haeundae.
There is no place to go at night in the cold winter, but with the light festival held like this, it will be popular as a night view attraction.
There are many foods to eat around, so enjoy a Haeundae outing on a day trip or a half-day course.
